FAQ

What are the dates and times of Graduate Camp?

This year we will offer camp June 26th - June 29th from 8:30am - 12:30pm Monday - Thursday.

Where is Graduate Camp held?

Camp is held at the New Albany-Plain Local K-1 Elementary building at 5101 Swickard Woods Boulevard New Albany OH 43054.

Do I need to live in New Albany to attend?

No, we welcome campers from all states and cities at no additional cost. In fact, each year we have 40-55% of our campers who reside outside of New Albany.

Who is eligible to attend?

Children for Graduate Camp must have completed Safety Town, they must be going into 1st or 2nd grade and must be able to sit still and quietly for up to 30 minutes while the teachers provide instruction in a classroom and while community partners do their presentations. Children not able to do both should not attend camp.

How do I register my child and how much will it cost to participate?

Online registration opens Saturday, March 4, 2017 and will close Saturday, April 8, 2017. The cost of the camp is $85 and includes all classroom materials used, a bike helmet, bike light, re- usable water bottle, a t-shirt and includes field trips to the Waterfish Swim School, New Albany Police Station and Plain Township Fire Department.

What if I want to register my child for a session and do not see it online?

Once sessions are full, they will not be visible as a choice when registering.

Are there make-up classes?

Unfortunately, there are no make-up classes. If there are handouts from a missed class, your child will be given them on the day he/she returns.

May my child attend Safety Town and Graduate Camp in the same year?

No. Your child may attend only 1 camp per summer. Safety Town is an extremely popular program and each year all sessions fill to capacity. Moreover, we think that re-enforcement of the safety lessons taught during camp are best done the following year in graduate camp rather than in consecutive sessions the same year.

How will I find out my child has been registered for a session?

After you have completed the registration process, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided. Please update your spam folders to receive emails from Safety Town and New Albany Police Department.
